[Collected via promotion.] I love this bird house so far. The newest of our bird houses, I love the conveniences of the viewing window and easy clean out side door. It is set it up on a built 3/4” black pipe with a pipe style predator baffle underneath. 2024 was the first experimental year we had it up. House Wrens generally rule our back yard during nesting season, although a bluebird pair showed much interest in it before probably being discouraged by them. This bird house is several feet away from the other houses (that the wrens ended up choosing for three years now to use) after the male builds his dummy nests in every one of them first. (They are very entertaining birds and I do love their bubbly song) So we will hope again this year to see if the Bluebirds or Wrens decide to nest in this new house. We are considering options of relocating it this year. We eventually want to replace all the other bird houses except the little wren house with this kind.
The elevated mesh floor to help protect against blowflies, predator guard entrance hole, and fledgling kerfs completes the checklist of ways to help ensure a more successful and enjoyable nesting season for our backyard birds.
PS. The house is farther away from the fence than it looks. So no predators can jump to it.
